Heritage Grants

for Young Adult Ministry

General Information:

Young Adults in their 20’s & 30’s make up the largest demographic in the Catholic church.  These individuals are considerably less religious than older Catholics.  In response to this crisis of faith the New Evangelization seeks to re-convert the already baptized through “new methods, ardor and expression”.  To assist parishes in these endeavors the Syracuse Diocesan Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry is offering grants to parishes, or groups of parishes, for the 2013-2014 fiscal year.

What:

The Heritage Committee approved the use of funds to support evangelization efforts to young adults.  Funding, in the amount of $50,000, has been allocated for grants to parishes, or groups of parishes, that will provide creative and innovative approaches that focus on evangelization to young adults ages 18-39 (18 year olds should be post high school). Grants have the potential to be renewed for two additional years (each year will require a new application and approval).

Who:

All parishes of the Diocese of Syracuse are eligible to apply for Heritage Young Adult Ministry Grants.  Priority will be given to initiatives that can be replicated in other parishes.

How:

Grant application forms and budget sheets are available as downloadable documents below.  Applications for grants will only be accepted on these forms and must be submitted electronically to the following email address:  This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it   Grant applications are due by June 12, 2013.  Applications will be ranked by a group of content experts and sent with recommendations to the diocesan director of youth & young adult ministry.

If your parish has recieved a YAM grant for the current fiscal year (2012-2013) you are required to complete an END OF YEAR REPORT in order to be eligible for the coming fiscal year.  These forms must be submitted to the Office of Youth & Young Adult Ministry and must be RECIEVED  by June 12, 2013 along with your new grant application.
